英文簡歷的工作經(jīng)歷
首先要強調(diào)一下,對于正在工作的人,experience應寫在education的前面,而對于在校生education則應放在experience之前。
1)時間
ⅰ目前的工作要最先寫,左側寫時間,如寫成1998-present
ⅱ以前的工作,只寫年份,如1993-1995.這樣的寫法主要適于以下三種情況:一是工作時間較早;二是工作時間在兩年以上;三是旨在巧妙地拉長工作時間。例如,如果你曾于1997年12月到1998年1月就職于某家公司,雖然只有短短兩個月,但寫成1997-1998就顯得工作時間較長,同時也沒撒謊。
以前的工作,加上月份,如may, 1998或may 1998.這樣的寫法自然會顯得精確一些,也投合銀行 業(yè)雇主的口味。
ⅳ summer intern(夏期工作)的幾種寫法。
一是直接寫summer intern,不管職務職稱;
二是寫成summer analyst,這種寫法比較適合大學本科或研究生期間的暑期工作;
三是寫summer assistant,這種寫法適合多種情況;四是寫summer associate,這一寫法專指mba學生的暑期工作。而且一般認為summer associate的級別會比summer analyst要高一些。
2)公司名
公司名稱應大寫加粗。若全稱太復雜,可以寫得稍微簡單一些。有些公司的全稱往往不為人知,但縮寫名卻盡人皆知。比如在中國就不是每個人都知道international business machine是什么公司,但bm的大名卻是家喻戶曉的。所以在中國,我們建議大家寫ibm,因為許多外企人事經(jīng)理都是中國人,這樣寫更順眼也更順口。而在美國,大家還是會寫全稱的。
3)地名
地名寫法與education部分相同,這里就不再贅述。
4)職務與部門
ⅰ 從公司名稱之后的第二行開始寫,如果想介紹公司情況,則職務與部門應寫在公司簡介之后。
ⅱ 職務與部門應加粗,每個詞的第一個字母要大寫,如manager, finance department.
5)公司簡介
ⅰ 對于新公司、小公司或招聘公司不甚熟悉的某些行業(yè)的公司,為了保險起見都不妨介紹一兩句,甚至對于那些業(yè)內(nèi)知名的企業(yè)往往也不一定名聲在外。求職者一般不會針對每家應聘的公司都量身定做一份專門的簡歷(tailor-made resume),目前可能只想在行業(yè)內(nèi)跳一跳,但也不排除將來在別的行業(yè)發(fā)展的可能,所以不妨都略帶提一下公司的簡介。
ⅱ 有些外國人可能對中國的公司不太知道,因此要介紹一下。千萬不要覺得中國的公司很大,別人就一定知道,一不留神,就成了井底之蛙。例如,中國銀行叫bank of china (boc)。在海外很多銀行都知道中國銀行,但不少人都誤認為中國銀行就是中國的中央銀行。
ⅲ 簡介長度以兩行為宜。只用一行易與別的內(nèi)容相混,而三四行就顯得比較累贅。
6)工作經(jīng)歷順序
ⅰ倒序,這是非常流行的方式。
ⅱ技能類別,這主要是為了強調(diào)自己的某種技能,如翻譯、電腦等。此外,對于那些工作經(jīng)歷有時間斷層的人,如下崗、休產(chǎn)假等,不妨也可使用這種方法。但要注意,這種寫法只適合技能性比較強的情況,其它可參考前面所提到的只寫年的方法加以彌補。如果斷層時間長達兩三年,則一定要解釋清楚,說明確切的原因,實事求是。越誠實越坦蕩,越能給人好印象。
ⅲ兩者結合,先按技能類別加以分類,再以倒序的方式一一列出。
7)工作內(nèi)容
ⅰ 要用點句(bullet point),避免用大段文字。
ⅱ 點句的長度以一行為宜,最多不要超過兩行;句數(shù)以三到五句為佳,最多不超過八句。
ⅲ 點句以動詞開始。目前的工作用一般現(xiàn)在時,以前工作用過去時
ⅳ 主要職責與主要成就,初級工作以及開創(chuàng)性不強的工作把主要職責放在前面,而較高級或開創(chuàng)性較強的工作則應把主要成就寫在前面。
ⅴ 工作成就要數(shù)字化,精確化,避免使用many, a lot of, some, several等模糊的詞匯,應盡量使用具體的數(shù)字,到底管理了多少人,銷售額是多少等等。
ⅵ 在同一公司的業(yè)績中,不必拘泥于時間順序,而應秉持"重要優(yōu)先"的原則。例如,在成就里可先寫最重要的成就;在職責里可先寫最高的職位,不要拘泥于倒序或正序的方法。關鍵是要使雇主在短短幾秒鐘之內(nèi)就發(fā)現(xiàn)您的最高賣點。
ⅶ 接受培訓的內(nèi)容可放在每個公司的后面。我們認為培訓是公司內(nèi)部的,與公司業(yè)務有關,不是education的一部分。
8)五個避免
ⅰ 長句:沒有人愿意看太冗長的句子,雇主只是在掃描你的簡歷。
ⅱ 縮寫:因為外行人往往很難看懂,不要先入為主的認為別人能猜到或者能查到你用的縮寫。
ⅲ "i" (我):因為正規(guī)簡歷多用點句,以動詞開頭,是沒有"我"的。當然若在公司簡介中一定要用到一兩次,也不是完全不可以。
ⅳ 不利因素:我們講過簡歷的原則是不要撒謊,但不寫不等于騙人。
ⅴ "reference available upon request":這個短語的意思是如需證明,可提供見證人。但在現(xiàn)實生活中,招聘人員認為任何人都能隨便抓來一兩個見證人應急。而且如果你在簡歷中也沒有寫上他們的名字及聯(lián)系方法,這句話則完全是多此一舉了。
